Welcome to JRW Bridal and my first blog instalment! I hope you enjoy sharing my journey of love for design and the creation of beautiful moments and experiences. I hope that my followers will also take the opportunity of using the blog as a platform to share your ideas and concerns about the bridal/evening wear market. I am especially interested in anything you believe is lacking or could be improved.
I began developing my design skills many years ago creating beautiful lingerie, using luxurious fabrics and stunning Italian laces in many shades. After a few years this foundation and intimate understanding of fit and comfort, progressed into a swimwear line, where I was able to use my creative skills in designing my own fabrics and fun Swimwear collections.
Life then offered me the opportunity of formally studying Fashion Design here in Australia. Over the last ten years, my main focus has turned to High-end Fashion Design, focusing predominantly on bespoke, couture bridal and eveningwear. I have gained great joy and satisfaction creating dream dresses/ensembles for my clients. As a designer, being involved in such a magical, precious and momentous process, is so rewarding!
I am sometimes asked how I deal with clients during, the often, emotional “pre-wedding” challenges. The road can be a bit bumpy at times, but is so worth it! I liken it to painting a beautiful picture on a blank canvas and watching it coming to life. To share this with the client is an amazing process, filled with tears of joy and delight rather than frustration and tension.
I have had the good fortune to travel quite extensively recently and am delighted to be settling down in Perth permanently. I will be launching JRW Bridal at the Perth Bridal Fair, March 24 & 25 and have specially designed two new gowns to showcase there, along with a selection of some of my previous work. So it is all systems go at the moment and I will keep you updated in my next Blog instalment
Till then stay true to yourself and never lose touch with what really matters in life.
