Hourglass Body Shape – Bridal Tips
It can be a confusing time, with so many choices out there! Bridal stores are filled to the brim and the internet is overflowing with gowns!
My professional advice is to start off with the right foundation by understanding your body shape; what works and what doesn’t. This way you will look back without regret when you walk down the aisle on your Wedding Day!
The hour glass body shapes are defined in two ways;
- Defined bust
- Defined waist
- Neat bottom
- Neat hips
- Full bust
- Small waist
- Rounded hips & bottom
- Bigger thighs
If this is you, then you have one of the easiest shapes to work with and you can really accentuate your waist but there are a few tips and tricks that will help you to look the best you can.
Necklines should not unbalance your silhouette by widening or unnecessary embellishments.
AVOID: Wide or High narrow neckline embellishments.
DO: Oval, Off-the-Shoulder, Sweetheart, Square, Scoop, V-neckline.
Similar to the necklines, the sleeves should not unbalance your natural silhouette.
AVOID: Wide sleeves unless it is balanced with a wide A-line or ballgown skirt.
DO: Sleeveless, fitted 3/4 or full length works really well.
You should choose a shape that accentuates your waist and flatters your curves but be sure that you match it with the best neckline and sleeve detail.
AVOID: Sheath or shapeless styles.
DO: Mermaid, Fit & Flare, A-line, Ballgown.
These are just a few tips that should guide you towards your perfect Wedding Dress and I would love to go into more detail with you if you would like to know more about your body proportions and how to accommodate for them in the best way. So please leave your comments and let’s chat.
Till next time, take care and keep safe!
